This map was created by the Seventeenth International Christian Endeavor Convention held in Nashville July 6-11, 1898. The convention was sponsored by the Young People's Christian Endeavor Society. This group was organized as part of the "muscular Christianity" movement. The map focuses on churches, schools, public institutions, and meeting headquarters for the convention: Union Gospel Tabernacle and Centennial Park (in former Centennial Exposition buildings).
